What Is Plant-Based?

Plant-Based referrers to food full of good nutrition – lots of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and totally free of cholesterol, antibiotics, and hormones.  Unlike the meat and dairy based diet – which has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and cancers – plant-based food has been proven to have protective effects, and provides nutrition without the excess calories, antibiotics, fat and cholesterol of meat and dairy.

A plant-based diet can prevent and reverse heart disease, prevent and treat cancer, and prevent and reverse diabetes, the three largest causes of mortality and morbidity in both men and women.

A plant-based diet is globally sustainable!  Meat and dairy industries use vast amounts of water – for animals to drink, to process their bodies, and mostly to clean up after ‘processing’. Pollution of land, water

and air has been linked to the meat and dairy industries.  The vast amounts of grain for animals to eat could be fed directly to hungry and starving people and children.  Methane from animals raised for food traps heat in the atmosphere much more effectively than carbon dioxide, making it the single greatest cause of global warming.

The Plant-Based diet is the most healthful for humans, other species, and the planet!  And it is delicious!
