Vegan International is a 501c3 Not-For-Profit Corporation and a United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) applicant which I founded.  Vegan International is dedicated to eliminating and reversing the negative effects of Speciesism, the exploitation by one species (human) of all other species.  Including:

Human Health – Speciesism, which includes eating other species, is responsible for the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the number one killer of both men and women.  NCDs are caused by the fat, cholesterol and antibiotics of the meat and dairy based diet.  They include Heart Disease, Diabetes, some Cancers, Autoimmune Disease, and Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR).  Cortisol (the stress hormone in both humans and other species) has been linked to depression, some suicides and murders.

Speciesism causes the hunger and starvation of less fortunate individuals and their children, in the developing nations who are forced to sell their grain at below market prices to feed unjustly incarcerated individuals raised as food in developed nations.   Subsidies in the developed nations keep prices artificially low, and causing hunger and starvation in the developing nations.

Planetary Health – including global warming, species extinction, biodiversity loss, pollution of air, water and land, all are linked to speciesism.

Wellbeing of other Species – Species are going extinct at alarming rates due to biodiversity loss, habitat destruction, and exploitation of innocent individuals of other species.

Vegan International goals are accomplished by creating awareness through the Vegan International Website and Newsletters, and by representing Vegan International at United Nations meetings and Conferences including the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) World Health Summit in Berlin, and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) World Food Summit in Rome, to promote these ideals and goals, and by participating in United Nations Non-Governmental Organization Coalitions.

The ultimate goal of Vegan International is to achieve a worldwide legally enforceable end to Speciesism.  Speciesism is defined as exploitation of other species for the perceived benefit of humans.  The vehicle for this initiative would be a United Nations Convention Against Speciesism.
